Jiaozi Recipe, Dumpling With Pork Filling.

Jiaozi or Gyoza are a kind of Chinese dumpling, commonly eaten in China and other parts of East Asia. They are one of the major dishes eaten during the Chinese New Year and year-round in the northern Chinese provinces. Though considered part of cuisine, Jiaozi are popular in other part of East Asia and in the Western world. 

Jiaozi is typical consist of a ground meat and vegetable filling wrapped into a thinly rolled piece of dough, which is then sealed by pressing the edges, steamed or pan-fried and are traditionally served with a black vinegar or sesame oil dip and ginger strips. They can also be served with soup. 

Let's follow the steps to make a delicious dumpling below :


INGREDIENT :


2 stalks Leek 

500 g Minced pork

1 packet Dumpling skin

1 Egg


SEASONING :

1/2 tsp Salt

1 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Pepper

1 tbsp Soy sauce

1 tbsp Oyster sauce

1 tbsp Flounder fish seasoning

1 tbsp Tapioca flour


HOW TO MAKE :

1. Heat up a pan and a little bit of cooking oil.

2. Lightly stir fry the chopped leek until fragrant, add a dash of salt. Set aside.

3. In a minced pork, add oyster sauce, pepper, tapioca flour, sugar, soy sauce, flounder fish seasoning, salt and finely the egg.

4. Add in the stir fried leek to minced pork and mix well.

5.  Wrap the filling with dumpling skin, use clean water as adhesive for dumpling skin.

6. Heat up some cooking oil a pan and place the dumplings in, pan sear the bottom of the dumpling until golden brown, and round half a cup of water and cover.

7. Steam until dry and meat is cooked (5-10 minutes). Make sure all dumplings are equally cooked and served on the plate with a sauce and sesame seeds.
