This snack namely Lopis/Lupis Cake. Lupis is a typical Indonesian food, especially in Java.
There are two forms of lupis that are commonly found, triangular or elongated round like a Lontong. Lupis is made from cooked glutinous rice and then wrapped in banana leaves.
Lupis cake is usually enjoyed with a splash of palm sugar. The sweet taste of the splash of liquid palm sugar combines with chewy texture of the lupis cake to become a delicious blend when we taste it.
And to make this dish is very easy, this time we will make the triangular shape first, let's make it now!

INGREDIENT :
900 g White glutinous rice, rinsed, drained
1 tbs Slaked lime water
8 cm Banana leaves, toothpicks
Palm Sugar Syrup as preferred
HOW TO MAKE :
1. Sprinkle glutinous rice with slaked lime water, stir evenly.
2. Clap 2 banana leaves and fold into a cone shape. Fill in with 3 tbs glutinous rice, flatten. Fold unused leaf back, to make a triangle shape. Secure with a toothpicks, so wrapping does not burst open during cooking.
3. Place all lupis in a pan. Add water until they are fully immersed, and bring to boil. Simmer for 2-hours, adding some hot water from time to time to retain the required water level.
4. Leave to cool before serving. Serve lopis coated with grated coconut, drizzled all over with palm sugar syrup.
